§ RULE ZERO
Safety First
Read these rules aloud to all soldiers BEFORE the first mission begins.
- ✓ALWAYS wear your safety goggles — mission does not start until goggles are on.
- ✓No headshots — aim for the body only at all times.
- ✓No physical contact — foam darts only. This is not a wrestling event.
- ✓Respect the Safe Zone — players in the Safe Zone cannot be shot.
- ✓When the Commander calls FREEZE — all soldiers stop immediately.
- ✓Collect your darts after each round — a clean battlefield is a safe battlefield.
- ✓Adults have final say on all rules, disputes, and safety decisions.
- ✓Most importantly: have fun — being a great sport is the highest rank.
§ DEPLOY
Setting Up the Battlefield
- 01Position bunkers/barriers around the play area. Leave clear pathways between each one.
- 02Mark the outer boundary with the orange cones provided. No player crosses the boundary during a mission.
- 03Mark a SAFE ZONE at each end (e.g., behind a garden fence or wall) — this is the reload station.
- 04Divide all players into two equal teams. Distribute coloured bandanas or tactical vests per team.
- 05Place dart collection buckets in each Safe Zone for reloading between respawns.
- 06Issue every soldier with a blaster and a pair of safety goggles. GOGGLES ON before any mission starts.
- 07Distribute darts evenly. Recommend starting each player with a full blaster and a backup pocket of 6 darts.
§ THE MISSIONS
Six Battle-Tested Ops
Field-proven missions for any squad size. Mix and match — most parties run 3–4 in a session.
Team Deathmatch
- Squad Size
- 4–16 soldiers
- Duration
- 10 minutes
- Setup
- Standard battlefield
Mission Briefing
Divide into two teams. Each soldier has 3 lives — tap your vest once each time you are hit. When all 3 lives are spent, sit at the edge and watch. The team with the most soldiers still active when the timer ends wins. For younger children, increase to 5 lives per player to keep everyone in the action longer.
Commander's Tip
Designate one player per team as the Squad Leader — they shout team orders and keep morale up. Adds strategy and great for shy kids who thrive with a leadership role.
Capture the Flag
- Squad Size
- 6–16 soldiers
- Duration
- 15 minutes
- Setup
- Place a flag at each team base
Mission Briefing
Each team has a flag at their base. The objective: steal the opposing team's flag and return it safely to your own base. If you are hit while carrying the flag, drop it immediately — a teammate can pick it up. A tagged-out player can be freed by a teammate tagging them back in. First team to capture 3 flags wins the operation.
Commander's Tip
Assign one dedicated base defender per team — it makes the game genuinely tactical and extends the mission time beautifully.
Last Soldier Standing
- Squad Size
- 4–20 soldiers
- Duration
- 5–8 minutes
- Setup
- Standard — free for all
Mission Briefing
Every soldier for themselves in a full battle royale. One hit and you are eliminated — take a seat at the perimeter and cheer on the survivors. The last soldier standing is crowned HALL OF DUTY CHAMPION. Run multiple rounds to crown the overall champion by wins. Fast, chaotic, and always produces a worthy winner.
Commander's Tip
Perfect for the birthday child moment — crown the winner with a badge or sticker. Run a best-of-3 series for maximum drama.
VIP Protection
- Squad Size
- 6–14 soldiers
- Duration
- 10 minutes
- Setup
- Designate 1 VIP per team
Mission Briefing
Each team nominates a VIP player. The VIP cannot carry a blaster — they must be protected by their teammates at all times. The objective: tag the opposing team's VIP with a dart. Bodyguards must shield the VIP while actively eliminating the enemy. The team whose VIP survives the longest wins the mission.
Commander's Tip
For birthdays, make the birthday child the VIP — the whole team fights to protect them. It feels special and the photos are brilliant.
Sharpshooter Challenge
- Squad Size
- Any size
- Duration
- 5 minutes
- Setup
- Set up target boards at 3 distances
Mission Briefing
A non-battle skills challenge — ideal for warming up or cooling down between main missions. Set the foam target boards at three distances: close (5m), medium (8m), and long range (12m). Each soldier gets 5 darts. Score 1pt, 2pts, and 3pts per hit by distance. Add up all scores. The soldier with the highest score is the Hall of Duty Sharpshooter.
Commander's Tip
Run it as a timed event — 30 seconds per player — and put all scores on a leaderboard for extra competition. Great for mixed-age groups.
Zombies vs Survivors
- Squad Size
- 6–16 soldiers
- Duration
- 10 minutes
- Setup
- Designate 1–3 zombies (green bandana)
Mission Briefing
One to three players start as ZOMBIES (identified by green bandanas). Zombies have no blasters — their only weapon is tagging Survivors by touch. Any tagged Survivor becomes a Zombie. Survivors use their blasters to keep Zombies at bay — each Zombie hit three times is frozen for 30 seconds. Survivors win if any remain after 10 minutes. Zombies win if all Survivors are converted.
Commander's Tip
Save this mission for last — it is the most chaotic and hilarious game in the pack, and it always ends the party on a high.
